For the gopher most interactions with other animals, or motor vehicles for that matter, don’t go so well. That will happen when the only thing lower than you on the food chain is grass.
I believe this to be a Ferruginous Hawk. I know he was kind of cranky. Even though I was shooting with a 300mm lens from about 50 yards away he didn’t appreciate me interrupting his lunch.
Evidently I look like the kind of guy who would steal your gopher.
